Description: It is a herbs, branched, tufted, short living, slender erect and ascending stem, horizontal root, spike inflorescence, lower floret are fertile with 3 stamens, last floret at the top is sterile, superior ovary,e ach ovary with a single locule and seed . Fruit is caryopsis.

Uses: Used for treating small pox, wounds and ulcers, In Manipur juice of fresh plants is prescribed in fevers.
