Description : A perennial herb or small shrub, typically reaching up to 60 cm in height. Stems are can be smooth or hairy, and are often woody at the base.
Leaves are Linear to lance-like, 1-5 cm long, with margins that can be recurved, revolute, or occasionally flat. Stipules are small, acuminate, and 1-4 mm long. Flowers are Solitary, pink-purple, and spade-shaped, with the lower petal being broad and spade-shaped. Sepals are 3-4 mm long, and anthers lack appendages.
Capsules is 4-9 mm long, ovoid, and contain 5-12 seeds.
Phenology:June to September
Uses : Traditionally used in various remedies, including as a diuretic, demulcent, and tonic. The root is also used for urinary affections and bowel complaints in children.
