Description: An undershrub with pubescent stem. Leaves oblong-lanceolate, serrate, nearly glabrous. Flowers light yellow, axillary, solitary or in clusters of 2-3. Sepals 5, ovate. Petals 5. Staminal tube divides into numerous filaments. Ovary 5-celled, ovules 1 in each cell, styles 5, stigma terminal. Fruit globose enclosed in the calyx.
Phenology: September - May.
Uses: Used to treat headaches, neurological disorders, tuberculosis, malaria, diabetes, and abnormal vaginal discharges.
