Description: It is a shrub with short branches. Leaves are narrow, leathery and are arranged in whorled manner. Margin is entire. Flowers are arranged in clusters at the end of the branches. Bracteate, calyx is divided into 5 lobes, hairy, corolla tube is present which end in 5 twisted petals, corona is present. Stamen included, short filaments, anthers connivent and adherent to stigma. Ovary bicarpellary, style filiform, stigma two lobed.
Phenology: April - August
Uses: It is traditionally used in the treatment of cardiac illness, asthma, corns, cancer, diabetes mellitus, epilepsy etc. Iit has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties also.
