Description: Perennial herbs. Leaves simple, opposite, acute to acuminate at apex, narrowed to the base, pubescent to puberulous; petioles up to 1cm. Inflorescence terminal, many flowered umbel-like cyme. Flowers 5-merous, mostly heterostylus. Corolla, pink, white, lavender,  red or pink with white stripes; tube narrowly cylindrical, lobes ovate to elliptic. Stamens attached to the throat of corolla tube; filaments and anthers exserted. Style short, stigma bifid. Fruits capsular, dehiscing in 2 valves; seeds numerous, minute.

Uses: It is used to treat Lymphadenitis, in the treatment of diarrohea, snake bite and malaria. The plant parts are used as a remedy for tape worm. Itching, rashes, pimples, gonorrohea, skin diseases and syhilis.
