Description: An erect annual herb. Leaves alternate, long petiolate, ovate, dentate, cuneate at the base, glabrous up 7.5 cm long. Flowers monoecious in axillary spikes. Bracts large, leafy. Male flowers minute followed by a tuft of sterile flowers. Calyx with 4 minute lobes. Petals 0. Stamens many. Ovary 3 – celled. Ovule 1 in each cell. Style filiform. Fruit a small capsule.
Phenology: July - December.
Uses: It has anti bacterial, anti inflammation, antiobesity, anti diabetic, antivenom, hypoxia, wound healing properties.
