Buses

1120 Midland Red Motorway Express Coach

March 1961 - 1963

Available with smooth and shaped fixed wheels.

468 AEC Routemaster Bus

June 1964 - 1965 with 'Corgi' banners

December 1965 - 1972 'Outspan' banners

January 1972 - 1975 (assumed) 'Outspan', Whizzwheels

All Corgi banner models had shaped wheels and jewelled headlamps.

Outspan models had shaped wheels and then cast wheels but late models with cast wheels lost the jewelled headlamps.

The Whizzwheels models had no jewels and a change of staircase was introduced near the end of teh cast wheel editions, from tan to clear plastic. All 468 models had a driver and conductor.

There were several banners available, some quite scarce, some very scarce and for the Australian market a green, cream and brown edition was produced. Here are the banners known to be available on a normal boxed model. Other special promotions were also produced but beyond the scope of this catalogue.

Here is an interesting 'bridge' edition which has the features of the first type but no jewelled headlamps and clear plastic staircase as would be found on Whizzwheel editions.

469 AEC Routemaster bus

Issued April 1975

A slightly larger model than 468. This seems to be available in a huge range of different promotional banners and also with different interior features. There are some with driver and conductor, some without, presumably later editions.

Western Australia Edition

Issued in Australia only, in green, cream and black. These were all early types with shaped wheels, jewelled headlamps and the same interior and conductor as the British edition.

I am not sure whether there were other banners used.Â
