Studebaker

211 and 211M Studebaker Golden Hawk

February 1958 - 1959 (211M)

February 1958 - 1960 (211)

The first American car in the Corgi catalogue.

This was available in solid blue with a gold flash on the rear fins for 211 and white or cream with the gold flash for 211M. The white model is known without a motor too when painted bodies would have been used for the 211 models after the 211M was discontinued. These are very scarce and the only ones I have seen have a 211S base but no suspension or interior..

The 211 and 211M models always have smooth fixed wheels.

211S Studebaker Golden Hawk

May 1960 - 1965

211 now with suspension and an interior.

Available with a gold- or silver-plated finish and also as a metallic paint finish in gold.

Early models have fixed smooth or shaped wheels. The gold painted model is a later edition and it appears that all of these have fixed shaped wheels. If they exist at all then smooth fixed wheels on that version would be scarce. This model did not get free-spinning wheels.

What appears to be the very scarce edition in gold painted finish with smooth wheels. I cannot confirm that this is genuine, however, but the photos do appear to show no signs of restoration or other work.
