Type 5 with original box
silver base
The 270 with the red tyre slashers was made between 1968 and 1976 and initially came in the winged bubble box (this was the one that the silver grille versions are normally found in); it then came in the 'slimline' window box which is now the hardest to find box type; and then it came in the 'candy stripe' window box with minor variations until the Whizzwheels version.
All the tyre slasher ones had 'secret instructions' packs; the Whizzwheels box dispenses with this, and the spare baddie is tucked into a cutout slot in the box interior.
The final production 270 DB5s with Whizzwheels come in the box with the additional text 'For ages 3 years and over' as seen in the picture; also note that the 'corgi' logo is in lower case. This style was initially adopted for corgi juniors about 1975 and then became the typeface used on all boxes from the latter part of 1977.
