220 Chevrolet Impala

January 1960 - 1965

The saloon version of the Impala which appeared in many forms. First issued in January 1960 and available in blue or salmon pink.

The blue edition may have either a lemon or red interior. Both editions were initially issued with smooth fixed wheels, then shaped fixed wheels and there are quite scarce late versions with free-spinning shaped wheels. The blue edition is more scarce with free spinning wheels, particularly with a lemon interior.

221 Chevrolet Impala Yellow Cab

July 1960 - 1965

This had an aerial, roof sign and door transfers.

Always available in yellow, it is available with smooth and shaped fixed wheels and some quite scarce models have free-spinning wheels.

223 Chevrolet Impala State Patrol Car

December 1959 - 1965

This was actually the first Chevrolet Impala model available and only the second to have suspension.

It is always black with an aerial and State Patrol paper stickers on the doors. It is available with smooth and shaped fixed wheels and some quite scarce models have free-spinning wheels.

439 Chevrolet Impala Fire Chief's Car

January 1963 - 1965

The last of the single cast Impalas. This was available in red with a roof beacon, aerial, bonnet transfer and door stickers. It can be found with red or white doors. These editions all had free-spinning shaped wheels.

481 Chevrolet Impala State Patrol Car

June 1965 - 1969

The second type of Impala has a chrome insert running through the model, providing the front chrome and rear chrome as well as the bright side stripes.

This edition has a white top half and black lower, a roof lamp, aerial and a Police transfer on the bonnet. There should also be State Patrol stickers on the doors in a new style.

Available with shaped or cast wheels.

480 Chevrolet Impala Yellow Cab

June 1965 - 1966

With similar revisions to the Patrol Car a short production run and quite hard to find now.

This edition has a red roof and lower element, yellow top half. The roof sign is the same as before but there are no longer transfers on the doors. Available with shaped or cast wheels.

248 Chevrolet Impala

August 1965 - 1966

The saloon with the type 2 revisions also had a short production run and is quite hard to find now.

It is in beige-brown with a cream roof and available with shaped and cast wheels.

482 Chevrolet Impala Fire Chief's Car

December 1965 - 1969

The Fire Chief's Car is the last to get the revised treatment.

Available with shaped and cast wheels, the car has a red upper section and cream-white lower, with a roof lamp, aerial, bonnet transfer and door stickers in a new style.

486 Chevrolet Impala Kennel Service Wagon

March 1967 - 1969

Another adaptation of the Impala casting. This was available with a set of four dogs. It appears with either shaped or cast wheels.

511 Chevrolet Impala Chipperfields Performing Poodles

January 1970 -1971

The Chipperfields version of 486, packed with six poodles, a figurine of Mary Chipperfield and a sort of roundabout affair. 

All models had cast wheels and this was one of the last models to be issued with normal wheels before Whizzwheels became the norm.

229 Chevrolet Corvair

June 1961 - 1966

Available in various shades of blue, from pale blue through to a deep bright blue. The blue shades usually had a lemon interior and opening engine compartment, together with a Venetian blind in the rear window. 

Blue editions may also have a red interior but this is less common and appears to be only with those early models with fixed smooth wheels.

A gold-plated edition was included in the Golden Guinea Gift Set 20, which has a red interior, also fitted to some early blue models.

Available with fixed smooth and shaped wheels and free-spinning shaped wheels.

310 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray

August 1963 - 1967

A very attractive model with twin jewelled headlights that can be pushed away in line with the bonnet.

Available in a range of colours:

I also have what appears to be a copper shade rather than bronze but until I see both next to each other I cannot be sure they're different.

Early editions had free-spinning shaped wheels, replaced quite soon by the wire wheel types.

337 Chevrolet Sting Ray Stock Car

July 1967 - 1969

A much revised version of the previous model.

Available in yellow with various stickers, exhaust and engine extensions, this model had 8-spoke cast wheels. It loses the jewelled headlights and swivel mechanism.


376 Chevrolet Sting Ray Stock Car

September 1970 - 1972

An even more dumbed-down version of this model, now with Whizzwheels.

Available in silver with various stickers, exhaust and engine extensions as for 337. The wheels are the 'pepper pot' style or 'four crowns' style.

338 Chevrolet Camaro SS350

August 1968 - 1971

One of the Golden Jacks models with removable wheels. Issued in August 1968 with removable black roof and opening doors. the front grille can also be slid to reveal jewelled headlamps. Available in metallic bronze-gold only.

[This casting was also used for the Pontiac Firebird which was not released with Golden Jacks but just Whizzwheels.]


304 Chevrolet Camaro SS350

February 1972 - 1972

The Whizzwheels edition of 338, issued in February 1972 for only a short period and scarce now. Available in bright blue with a white plastic roof.

It had the 'four crowns' style of wheel.

This can be found with white or black transfers on the left and right wings.

300 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

April 1970 - 1970

A new version of the Stingray, another very smart model produced in vacuumed plate bright metallic green or red in April 1970. This was a Golden Jacks model with removable wheels but had a very short life with the introduction at the same time as Whizzwheels which would lead to its early replacement.

Available in bright green and bright red with jewelled rear lamps and swivelling front headlamps. The yellow plastic Targa tops were removable.


387 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

June 1972 - 1973


The Whizzwheels version was available in metallic dark blue and pale pink. The rear lamps were replaced by casting material filling the holes in all but a few transitional models where the jewels were retained.

It would appear that later models also had ribbed headlamp covers, previously smooth.

The wheels are the 'four crowns' style.


347 Chevrolet Astro 1 Experimental Car

October 1969 - 1974

A strange vehicle issued in October 1969. This was the second to have Whizzwheels and can be found with both the red spot type as well as the ubiquitous 'pepper pot' and 'four crowns' varieties. The car is always dark metallic turquoise-blue.

Two passengers are included and the top section can be lifted.
