Habitat: Deciduous forests, also in the plains.
Description: Trailing herbs with long slender branches and thick root-stock. Leaves alternate, simple, 2-4 x 0.5-1.2 cm, linear-lanceolate, base auricled and toothed, apex acute, mucronate, sessile to sub-sessile. Flowers axillary few-flowered cymes, sometimes solitary; peduncle 1-2 cm long. Sepals 5-6 x 2-3 mm, lanceolate, acuminate. Corolla campanulate, cream colored or yellow with a purplish eye at centre; tube 1-1.5 cm long; limb spreading 1-1.5 cm across, sub-entire. Stamens 5. Ovary 2-celled; stigma 2-lobed. Capsules 5-8 mm across, sub-globose; seeds 4, glabrous, brown.

Uses: Plant is one of the sources of the ayurvedic medicine Prasarini . The aerial parts are used in treating haemorrhoides,swellings,rheumatic affections and urinary infections.
