Description: C. odorata is a bushy plant with woody stem, and spread much branched, which is dense stands. It can reach up to 7 m high. It is entirely covered with a clean pubescence. The leaves are simple and opposite characteristics in their sub-rhombic shape and venation, 3-veined from the base almost. As indicated, the name of this species, its leaves give off a strong odor when crumpled. The terminal inflorescence and disseminates consists of small and narrow cylindrical flower heads with white florets pale blue. C'set a perennial plant that reproduces by seeds.

Uses: Used in Folk medicine .Used as ornamental plant that is sometimes encouraged for use in shifting slash-and-burn agriculture to compete with Imperata cylindrical (alang alang or cogon grass).
