Description: Rosulate herb; rhizome subterranean or on surface, greyish brown, 0.5–1 cm thick; stem 3.1 cm long, 0.8 cm in diameter, probably not always evident above the ground. Leaves erect to suberect, ascending-spreading, 5–9(–15), , channel on inner surface deepest at base to flat at apex, subulate tip, 1.7–5(–6) cm long, green, horny, faintly banded on both surfaces but obliterated on maturity, with 5–7 longitudinal shallow furrows on the back, margins green but whitish with age or injury; petiole 5–15 cm long, but no distinct point of petiole emerging. Flowers greyish green, 1.3–1.9 cm long; tube 0.5–0.8 cm long, lobes 0.8–1.1 cm long, fully backward rolled when fully open; filaments 1.1–1.3 cm long, anthers 0.2 cm long; style 2–2.5 cm long.
