Description: Erect shrubs with slender branches; spines slender, straight. Leaves lanceolate, long acuminate; domatia glandular; petiole 3-6 mm long; stipule acuminate, villous within. Cymes short, sessile. Flowers shortly pedicelled; calyx tube nearly truncate; corolla 5 mm long, tube globose, lobes lanceolate, spreading; anthers strongly cuspidate, hispid at tip. Style 3 mm long, densely bearded at middle. Drupe 10 mm across, globose, black.
Flowering and Fruiting: March - May
Uses: Folk medicine, Siddha
Cultivation: common in forested areas
