We decided on an impulse to go to Paris, to see what the recently renovated Notre Dame cathedral looked like. It all started out as a bit of a disaster. The Notre Dame website said we should book the day before. Did the website work? Non! We couldn't book at all. Then when we arrived in Paris it turned out that we should have booked for visits to the Orangerie and the Musée D'Orsay three days before. Arrrrggh! Mille Sabords!
We then found we could buy a card for the museums which allowed us to jump the queue, and the nice lady in charge let us go through and buy one. Then, to make things even better, the queue for Notre Dame was actually very quick. So we managed to faire d'une tragédie un triomphe! Hurray...
The cathedral was wonderful. It looked so clean, as if it had been built yesterday. We also met up with old friends there too. Lovely!
