Here is a mishmash of various pictures that don’t fit into one of the other categories....
The art class that Mike goes to decided to have an exhibition, an ‘Autumn Show’. Mike rashly promised to make picture frames! never again. The Summer Of Framing.
Kate discovered a website that sends postcards for you! This is one of the most exciting things of the year! You upload a picture, and some text, and they send it. No faffing around trying to find a shop that sells postcards and stamps. Wonderful! Chris and Marta send us this owl one from a bird photography day.
We visited New Lanark and the Falls of Clyde while we were up in Glasgow for John’s graduation.
We went to an archeology site near Eddington, the new village in the North West of Cambridge. You know how they always go on about ‘postholes’ on Time Team, and they usually look very faint. Well we actually saw one! And they’re very clear!
The Picasso exhibition was based round a single year, 1932. It was amazing to see the huge range of styles he painted in, just in that single year. The Year Of Wonders they called it.
The Modigliani exhibition was good too. We sort of knew the nudes, but there was a whole range of portraits of people sitting clothed, which were new to us, and some amazing sculpture.
Dave’s guitars! At least half of them made by him.
