At the beginning of June we had a welcome holiday in the Lake District. John and Holly were free for a few days so they drove down from Glasgow to join us. This meant that we had to try extra hard to get fit, so as not to let the side down. We started gradually, but by the end we actually were a lot fitter.
In the end we managed the walk up Hopegill Hill quite easily! Maybe we’re not so decrepit as we thought. This is one of our favourite walks.
We also climbed Catbells, and took a boat out on Derwentwater.
Later in the week we walked around Buttermere, past the bench dedicated to Sue’s mum and dad, with views of Haystacks and Fleetwith Pike. Such a beautiful walk.
