We had a holiday in Suffolk. Quite hastily arranged - we just wanted somewhere hassle-free and not miles away. We met up with Pam, who happened to have planned a holiday in the same area, so that was a lovely extra treat. We went to Sutton Hoo to see the treasures, and also had a tour of the mounds, which was surprisingly moving - we got quite close to real history. The last time we went there they had just opened the visitor's centre, so it was nice to see how much it had changed.
We went round Snape Maltings, which Mike's mum had always enjoyed. The best thing was the Early Music Shop, with a fantastic collection of harpsichords, spinets, clavichords, crumhorns etc etc. They even had Peter Maxwell-Davies's clavichord for sale. We were very tempted by the spinets!
We visited the church in Blythburgh where there was an amazing angel roof.
Looking slightly pink! I think it's the iPhone...

We were promised kingfishers...but still nice.
