2014 Edinburgh

Our friend from Glasgow (originally) Vivien, invited us to a special birthday party in the Old Observatory in Edinburgh.  A wonderful building for a party! And wonderful views overlooking Edinburgh.

We stayed in a grand tenement near Scotland Street.  This is Alexander McCall-Smith’s “44 Scotland Street” books territory.  We even had to visit Valvona and Crolla, which was amazing!  It’s where Bertie’s awful mother buys her sun-dried tomatoes if you haven’t read the books!

Ghostly trams were zooming round the city, completely empty of people! (Or at least visible people).  Very spooky.
