Here are a few miscellaneous pictures that don't fit in anywhere else. Taken at various locations, Wimpole, Botanic Gardens etc...
One happy piece of news was that the Canine Genetics Group from the Animal Health Trust (where Mike used to work) has been rescued after the closure of the AHT, and joined the Cambridge Veterinary School, mostly due to the efforts of Mike's friend Cathryn. There's a picture of them all below.
We went on a lovely visit to meet our fried Pam at Belton House, in Lincolnshire. Another outing was to a fascinating exhibition in the Fitzwilliam Museum about early (900BC) Saka cultures in Kazahstan, who made glorious items out of gold, with David and Shirley (they told us about it and arranged it - very useful!) The Gold Of The Steppes!
I managed not to fall in when punting on the river, but only just. When Kate shouted "There's a Spitfire!" I nearly lost my balance trying to see it. How she would have laughed...
Kate and Mike at Anglesey Abbey (I think...) or is it the Botanic Gardens? We visted them both several times, and we're easily confused these days.
A kestrel at Wimpole.
A red kite at Wimpole, taken by Chris
At the Shakespeare in the college gardens! A sudden downpour (it dried up later...)
Canine Genetics Group from the Animal Health Trust - rescued. Wonderful!
Pam and Kate at Belton House.
Pam and Kate having a thoughtful moment by the lake...
Mike bought a new iMac. Surprisingly exciting!!
Kate took an epic electric car journey to Garstang, so we now record all useable chargers!!
Gold of The Steppes, with David and Shirley, at The Fitzwilliam Museum.
Look at these glorious gold rams on clouds! Lovely!
Cambridge Botanic Gardens looking stunning as usual.
Blue skies over the Botanic Gardens
Mike's birthday (no room for 69 candles. Eek! Am I really that old?)
Mike strides out at Wimpole
Belton House with our face masks!
The fountains at Cambridge Botanic Gardens - one of our favourite places. There is a bench dedicated to Syd Barrett there which I always visit.
Our blossom, and our blue sky.
Wimpole. They were filming a helicopter attack on the folly. Apparently for Apple TV+.
Orchid?
Our garden in the sun
Our garden in the snow
Kate organised a lovely Repair Café get together.
New tarmac (technically 'specialised surfacing' we're told) on our road.
Chris Southgate punting on the Cam! He was very good!
Mike punting! Even stranger. I managed not to fall in!
Kate with Phil and Katie in Dorset.
We met a robot on the street. When I said "Hi" it turned round!
We saw a daffodil with eight petals! Very rare... (Chris's picture)
