In an era where the idea of perfection has consumed social media, feelings of isolation can quickly run rampant. Many people post only their best outfits, coolest trips, and greatest accomplishments, and it’s all too easy to compare yourself to this impossible image of perfection. However, a challenge to these social media norms has been rising in popularity, in the form of an app called “BeReal”.

On Friday, September 16, Champaign Central High School’s football team played Centennial High School, kicking off Central’s Homecoming weekend. Students from Freshman to Seniors gathered to cheer on their team. Several administrators supervised the event, enforcing football spectator rules. One rule, in particular, was highly enforced: “no sports bras”.
Diversitizing Unit 4 Elementary Schools

Through one email, the Unit 4 School Board has caused an uproar throughout nearly all parents in the district. The email was sent out on September 27th at 5:30 pm. At first glance it just looks like a simple, harmless email. In fact, it was not. The parents (apart from those on the board) were not aware of the plan until the email was sent even though the plan was created back in 2020. However, from how it sounds, the plan has already been set in stone for some time now.
