Students at Central High school have a lot going on! On top of schoolwork, sports, clubs, jobs, and other extracurricular activities, some students run their own businesses. Seniors Lalit Gurrapu and Tanish Khadse run LITE Web Services and they make websites for other local businesses, to help them with digital representation.
They were inspired to create their company because, as Gurrapu says, “We noticed that a lot of these businesses don’t have websites, or any social presence”. So, they decided to use their skills from Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), which they both participate in, to create a business where they can help local companies create an online presence.
Some websites they have created are for FBLA, Lauren Cassady Photography, Bombay Market, and they are always working on more.
Additionally, they hope to “implement an internship program within Central” in the near future, to share their skills and help teach kids that are interested in this field. Gurrapu says that they plan to continue their business after they graduate, and continue helping kids by teaching them new skills. He says that helping the community is their biggest goal. They enjoy what they do and want their services to be affordable.
You can check out their business and the services they offer at litewebservices.github.io or contact them at litewebservices@gmail.com Unfortunately, their website is blocked by the security on Chromebooks issued by Unit 4. Lalit shared that “it is frustrating, but we will try to work around it.”
