Boys Tennis: Start of the Season

Julien Moss

The Central Boys Tennis team has just started their season, and I wanted to interview a few members to find out what they think about this season.

When asked what he wants for his team this season, Sophomore, Ezra Bernhard, hopes that the bond that is shared between the team, can continue to grow. Junior, Wade Schacht, responds with, “I want to enjoy this season as much as possible. Have fun in every match, and appreciate my time with the team.” Senior Jack Thompson replies, “I just hope that we can be as successful as possible as a team. As an individual I just hope to continue to improve on my game and to continue to work hard. Overall, I just hope to make good memories and to take advantage of my last season on the team.” Senior Adam Bergh says, “I'd say that I’m ready to gain experience while playing for varsity and overall just make memories while playing with the team, especially through doubles with my fellow senior teammates.”

Ezra Bernhard and Lalit Gurrapu celebrate after point win.

While individually players have different goals, collectively they have the same goal this year, which is simply: to win. Bernhard believes that, “this team has the ability to win sectionals, and go far in state.” Schacht remarks, “I think we have a very good squad this year. We should be able to win most of our dual meets. I would love to have a winning season across our dual meets and contend in tournaments.

While it's still early in the season, the Boy’s tennis team is strong, and their hunger for W’s stronger.
