New Year's Resolutions

New Year's Resolutions have been around for centuries. By setting goals for the new year, it allows us to start fresh. We feel inspired to make positive changes in our lives and better ourselves. Many of Central’s students also form New Year’s Resolutions.

Senior Rachel Gillett says that her’s is “just to be happy.” In order to do this, Rachel plans to indulge in self-care. Gillett says she wants to “put mental health first,” as well as “manifest positive things in [her] life.”

Additionally, this year senior Maddox Dempsey says that this year their goal is to do “3 small acts of kindness every day.”

Senior Olivia Thompson says this year she has made many New Year’s Resolutions. One of hers is to “drink more water.” Thompson says she hopes to have more energy throughout the day, and drinking more water would allow her to do that.

However, not all of Central’s students make New Year's resolutions. Senior Adele Miller says that she doesn’t like to make New Year’s resolutions. “I like to make little goals for myself throughout the year,” says Miller. Miller says this helps to keep her accountable throughout the entire year.

As for myself, this year I want to learn how to bake; I love creating recipes and trying out new foods. By cooking more, I would be able to exercise my creativity and find new foods to create for my friends.

Regardless of whether you make New Year's resolutions or not, it is important to set goals for yourself. This allows you to work towards achieving what matters to you.
