Typically Central’s homecoming happens in September, with a week of spirit days leading up to a homecoming football game and dance. However this year the homecoming dance was moved to December 11th, with Central’s Football team’s season being long over, the boys varsity basketball team held a homecoming game at 7:30 December 10th in Combes gym.
To preface the game and get fans excited was Central’s pep band, conducted by John Currey, playing on the stage. They also played during time outs and ended during halftime.
Central played Danville and Central’s team played well enough in the first half to secure a tie of 30-30 at halftime. The final score was Danville 64 and Central 51.
"However, that did not stop Central’s fan section from showing their support for their team. The theme for the student section was white lies. Students wore white tee-shirts with white lies written on them. A few examples included, "I’m tall", "I’m a good driver", and "I’m a natural blonde".
To also support Central, was Central’s cheer squad who stood on the sidelines cheering and at times would come over to the student section and lead them in a cheer.
Because this was a homecoming game, homecoming court was brought out during halftime and the King and Queen were announced to be Shaffer Bauer and Genesis Gebil.
