Going to college is an academically rewarding experience for students. During high school, senior year is largely about applying for college. Choosing a college to attend next year can be hard for most seniors. You can apply and get into multiple colleges or apply and not get into any. Here at Champaign Central High School, some seniors will stay, some will leave, and some are still deciding. So to collect this data we made a survey and asked a sample of our seniors to participate. In the survey, we assigned each college a number, and then asked seniors to pick three they got into and which they were likely to attend:
20: Parkland College
20/60: Parkland Pathway to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
41: Millikin University
43: Eastern Illinois University
45: Roosevelt University

Different from our expectations, the result of our survey resulted in a variety of different answers about where the seniors will be heading next.
“I got admitted to numbers 55, 60, and 61,” wrote Lucia Moss, the Editor in Chief of The Chronicle. “I would most likely stay in town and choose number 60.”
“I’ll be attending number 62 next year which is Southern Illinois University Carbondale,” said Conner Branch. “I also got admitted to numbers 60, 51, 55, and 70.”
“I got into numbers 60, 88, and 69,” wrote Lily Nicolette. “I chose number 88.”
However, many seniors are still deciding where to go to college next fall as they have multiple options they are still exploring.
“My lucky schools are numbers 60, 59, and 77,” said Jasmine O’Connor. “I am still deciding where to go next year.”
“I got into numbers 60, 61, 64, 119, 58, and 77,” said Vy Nguyen. “But I am still deciding where to attend next. Now I’m falling between numbers 60 and 64.”
Our graph below shows the total number of applicants who got admitted to each of the colleges on our form.
