Spread the Word Inclusion Day, March 6th: A campaign focused on committing to end the R-word and to be respectful in words and actions towards people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Join us at the Academic Expo
TODAY 4 - 7 pm
TA Atrium
The 2024 - 2025 school year is months away, but now is a good time for students to start thinking about classes they'd like to take.
The Academic Expo provides an opportunity for current and prospective students and families to learn about all of TA’s classes. Each academic department will have a visual display, staffed by its teachers, that highlights the department's classes. You'll be able to speak with the teachers and ask questions.
The Academic Expo also helps students chart their academic path beyond next year. For example, a Trigonometry teacher could suggest a math class to a sophomore that would best prepare the student for that senior-level class. Academic Expo Video

Become a TA Tour Guide! Help welcome prospective students and families to Thornton Academy! TA Tour Guides give campus tours, connect with students on email and social media, and help out at open houses and fairs. It is that time of year for the Children's Winter Carnival, sponsored by the TA Student Council, on Saturday, March 16th, 9am-12:00pm.
We want your help with as many TA students, TA staff, and TA Alumni as possible. This is an excellent event for families within our community to have fun while supporting a great cause. We hope that, with your commitment, we can fill the gym, stage, and lobby with fun things for the kids to do.
We would love to have new clubs, teams, and organizations join! We would like to see groups from TAMS participate too!
See Mrs. Martin in the School Counseling Office if you want to volunteer.
Interested in Homestay?
Thornton Academy’s Homestay Program is looking for Homestay Families for the 2024-2025 school year. This program was started in 2010 and has been a fulfilling opportunity to both host families and their international students. This program has given international students a chance to fully immerse themselves in American life, learn about American values and customs and really hone their English language skills. For families, it’s an ideal way to gain an in-depth understanding of the world outside our borders, since students will be eager to talk about their home countries, family traditions and cultures. A Homestay experience will allow students and families to make personal connections and build life-long friendships. Families can rest assured that they will have the ongoing support from Thornton Academy throughout their time as Homestay Families.
If you would like to host one of Thornton Academy’s Homestay Students or to learn more information about the Homestay Program, please contact Homestay Coordinator, Sara Demers, at 282-3361 ext 4557 or by email at sara.demers@thorntonacademy.org
