Clubs & Activities Announcements:
Auditions for the Fall Play, The Odyssey, will take place on Thursday September 8th at 3pm in the Auditorium. Audition materials are available as hard copies at the entrance to the music hallway, or electronically by contacting Mr. Hanright - or scanning the QR code posted at the foot of the Music Hallway.
The first meeting of the TA Tour Guides club will be Monday, September 19 at 3pm in room FA 141 in the New Media Center. TA Tour Guide students give campus tours at admissions events, connect with prospective students via email/WhatsApp, and support the admissions office in other ways. This meeting is for returning TA Tour Guides as well as students interested in joining us this year! If you're interested in joining the club, but can't attend on September 19, please email admissions@thorntonacademy.org.
Looking for junior or senior students to mentor in local elementary or middle school classrooms! This is a fun experience for mentors, teachers, and younger students... and you can earn credit! If you are interested, complete the Student Mentor Application. If you have questions, please email or see Mrs. Roche in the deans' office. Our first Interact meeting of the year will be on Monday 9/19 at 2:45 in Mrs. Arenstam's room SB212. Please contact either Mrs. Arenstam or Mrs. Campbell for more info! We hope to see you then.
Picture Day
Students will be called down to the Auditorium for pictures during Block 1 & 2 today. Parents may place an order online. No form is needed. Pictures are necessary for your school ID, but not required for purchase.
Parking Passes
Juniors and Seniors are eligible for parking permits and will be issued in order of request until they are all gone. Once you fill out the Student Parking Permit form you need to pick up your permit at Mr. Trask's office.
Attendance
TA is transitioning to SchoolPass for attendance. In the meantime, if you are late to school, please check in to the Attendance Office iPad kiosk. Scan your School ID or the top barcode of your iPad. A slip will print for you to take to class.

Reminder: In order for an absence to be excused, it must fall under one of the Academy’s definitions of excused absences:
Personal Illness
An appointment with a health professional that must be made during the regular school day (bring note to the dean’s office)
Observance of a recognized religious holiday when the observance is required during the regular school day
A family emergency
A planned absence for a personal or educational purpose that has been approved in advance through the Dean’s Office.
