Do you love Thornton Academy? Join the TA Tour Guides club and share your passion for our school with prospective students! The TA Tour Guides support the admissions and marketing offices by offering campus tours, attending open house events, hosting shadow day students, and assisting with photography & videography. Join us for our first meeting on Tuesday, October 5 from 3pm - 4pm in the New Media Center. Carpe Diem: Thursday, 9/23/21, 3-4pm, MB017 with Mr. Arenstam
If you are interested in taking photos, adding video content, writing stories, or working on the technical aspects of our online platform, this is the place for you. We are looking for students who are willing to help with all aspects of creating content for our new media site. No experience is necessary to join our club, and this year we hope to interface with the groups that produce Postscripts (an alumni magazine), the Tripod (our school yearbook) and the group that supports the school's website. So many people, so many stories to tell.
The Student Library Advisory meets every other Monday at 3pm in the library.
Next meeting on October 4th, all are welcome!
Neuroscience Club meetings will be held on Fridays at 8am in SB112. Learn about how your brain controls what you do and what you think. Students have the opportunity to compete in the Southern Maine Regional Brain Bee at UNE this winter. See Mrs. Cardosi for more information (jessica.cardosi@thorntonacademy.org)
The Interact Club meets on Mondays at 2:45 in SB212. The Interact Club supports community service both on and off campus and is open to any students interested in community service and having fun! It isn't too late to join. For more information please contact either Mrs. Arenstam or Mrs. Campbell
9/30. The Environmental Club will be conducting a fall clean up of the commuter Park and Ride Lot located on Industrial Road. This lot abuts the Goosefare Brook which has been classified as an unhealthy waterway. As part of a city and statewide effort to restore this brook students will be focus on this location, it contributes to the brooks' issues with waste and pollution.
Students interested in joining should meet in SB 101 at 2:45 on Thursday 9/30.
A bus will transport students to and from the site. Disposable gloves and trash bags provided.
