October marks Bullying Prevention Month, a campaign to unite communities nationwide to educate and raise awareness of bullying prevention.
In addition, October is LGBT History Month, which marks and celebrates the lives and achievements of lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender people in the United States.
Clubs & Activities Announcements:
French club will meet on 10/4 from 2:45 - 3:30 in FA 209. You don’t have to be in a French class to Join us for some fun. We will watch movies, play games, share some food to know more about the French and European culture.
INK Magazine is back! INK is Thornton Academy's Literature & Arts Magazine, focused on spotlighting the artists, performers & writers in our community. If you are interested in the arts, journalism, and or publication, join us! Meetings are every Tuesday 2:45-3:45. Our first meeting is Oct 4, 2022 2:45-3:45pm in Room SB 202 (Science building, upstairs wing). Looking for junior or senior students to mentor in local elementary or middle school classrooms! This is a fun experience for mentors, teachers, and younger students... and you can earn credit! Seniors: Would you like to submit your name for a chance to be voted Homecoming Royalty? Sign up during lunch waves at the ticket table or see Mrs. Martin in the Counseling Office.
Rally Friday's bell schedule is adjusted to include a homecoming rally. See the Bell Schedule for details. This is especially important for those with TA Release to review in advance so that you aren't tardy to classes on Friday.

Ms. Thomas is pleased to offer the Art School Presentation Series for the 2022-23 school year.
G4 - Thursday, October 6th @ 1:30pm - 2:45pm in FA122.
Eric Kaster, Assistant Director of Admissions will present program offerings from College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI.
How to attend:
- Interested students with TA Release are welcome.
- Students enrolled in an G4 academic class MUST get permission in advance from their Academic Teacher to attend & make arrangements for completion of work. The student must sign-up with Ms. Thomas (a friendly email is acceptable or in person) in advance & must come to the presentation on the scheduled day with a written pass from their teacher. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Please bring your sketchbook or a notebook & pen or pencil for note taking (required).
