Update on Your Thornton Academy ID Card
To help us maintain a secure and safe campus, please take one of the following actions by Friday, December 20th:
If you have your ID card, use it at any door card reader before the deadline. Regular use helps keep your card active.
If your card is lost, inform your Dean immediately so we can deactivate it and issue a replacement if necessary.
Please note: ID cards that are not used this week will be deactivated for security purposes.
We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring the safety of our campus community. Thank you for addressing this promptly!
We are so proud of our students, their families, the staff, and the TA community. Thank you for all your support of TA. We could not have done this without all of you. We wish you a happy holiday. Enjoy your family and friends.
Best, Mary Ann & Sara, co-advisors for Student Council
Thank you to everyone on campus who represented TA in the Festival of Lights Parade! From the tissue paper flowers, the signs, or the enthusiasm you brought by being in the parade, it all came together!
SOPHOMORES
MYL (Maine Youth Leadership), HOBY (Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership), and RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) are organizations that sponsor a weekend-long leadership seminar in early summer for sophomore students. Representatives from the sophomore class are selected to attend each seminar. These are excellent opportunities for students to meet other sophomores from across the state and participate in discussions, group activities, and presentations from community leaders. The goal of these seminars is to enhance and strengthen leadership skills. Students who have gone in the past have raved about their experiences, and many return as alumni every year to volunteer at the seminars!
Students can pick up an application from the School Counseling Office. The deadline for returning applications is January 24th.
Please feel free to contact Mrs. Martin if you have any questions.
TA Dining Services:
FLIK is a school dining service that provides meals at TAMS/Thornton Academy. The have developed a survey to use to potentially enhance the customer experience. Students in grades 9-12 are being asked to please take a few minutes to participate. The survey can be found HERE
