National Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15-October 15, celebrates the contributions, heritage, and culture of Hispanic and Latino Americans.
Yom Kippur, a Jewish Day of Atonement, begins at sunset on October 4 and ends at sunset on October 5.
Constitution Day and Citizenship Day, September 17, commemorates the ratification of the United States Constitution in 1787, and all those who have become U.S. citizens.
Clubs & Activities Announcements:
TA Cycling Club will meet on Thursday, September 15th 2:45-3:45 in LB 103 . Meet up and tune up your bike, safety check and helmet fit. If you need a pre-ride check to make sure your bike is in good working condition. See Mr. Sylvester in LB 103
The first meeting of the TA Tour Guides club will be Monday, September 19 at 3pm in room FA 141 in the New Media Center. TA Tour Guide students give campus tours at admissions events, connect with prospective students via email/WhatsApp, and support the admissions office in other ways. This meeting is for returning TA Tour Guides as well as students interested in joining us this year! If you're interested in joining the club, but can't attend on September 19, please email admissions@thorntonacademy.org.
Looking for junior or senior students to mentor in local elementary or middle school classrooms! This is a fun experience for mentors, teachers, and younger students... and you can earn credit! Parking Passes
Juniors and Seniors are eligible for parking permits and will be issued in order of request until they are all gone. Once you fill out the Student Parking Permit form you need to pick up your permit at Mr. Trask's office.
Library Closures
The library will be closed after school on September 12th and the 20th.
BRCOT ON EARLY RELEASE DAYS
AM Session is 8:30 - 10
PM session is 10:55 - 12:25
For those who use the bus to and from BRCOT:
- bus will pick up AM program students at 10 to return to TA in time for block 3
- bus will pick up PM students at TA at 10:25 to go to BRCOT
- bus will pick up PM students who need bus transport at 11:40 to return to TA
