~ Sophomore Class ~
Thornton Academy is seeking interested tenth-grade students for the following programs: MYL (Maine Youth Leadership), HOBY (Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership), and RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards); these organizations sponsor a weekend-long leadership seminar in early summer for sophomore students. Representatives from the sophomore class are selected to attend each seminar. These are amazing opportunities for students to meet other sophomores from across the state and participate in discussions, group activities, and presentations from community leaders. The goal of these seminars is to enhance and strengthen leadership skills.
Interested students can fill out an application in the School Counseling Office. The application consists of a resume and a short essay, and it is due by Monday, February 12th, 2024. We welcome all sophomores to apply! Please contact your school counselor with any questions.
Thank you,

We are so excited to share that Thornton Academy has been selected to benefit from Hannaford’s Fight Hunger Bag Program, which makes it easy for customers to contribute to their local communities.
For the month of February, whenever a $2.50 reusable Fight Hunger Bag is purchased at the Hannaford located in Saco, $1 will be donated to Thornton Academy's student lunch assistance fund. This is a great way to broaden awareness and help our cause.
Let’s get started! Share the news with friends and family. Call, send emails and post on social media. The more people who purchase the Fight Hunger Bag in February, the more we can raise!
