AP Art and Design 2025-2026
Attention Junior Artists interested in AP Art and Design 2025-26: Students must obtain teacher recommendation for this college-level course, which is a process that consists of two parts:
Part 1 – Completion of this AP Art and Design Review Form and
Part 2 – Digital Portfolio Submission

We will hold auditions for all auditioned performance ensembles for the 2025-2026 school year on Wednesday March 5th immediately after school. This includes jazz band, chamber singers, treble choir, and dance company.
The directing class is hosting auditions for their student directed showcase. Auditions will be March 11, 2025 after school in FA107. If you are interested, please see our announcement, and reach out to Mrs. Buttarazzi or a member of the directing class for more information.

March is Youth Art Month!
The Arts Department is happy to announce the Maine Art Education Association Youth Art Month at the Maine Education Association in Augusta, February - November, 2025.
The opening reception will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 1 to 2:30 pm. The presentation of certificates will start at 1:30pm.
2025 "The Art of Education" includes youth artwork selected by teachers who are both MEA (Maine Education Association) and MAEA (Maine Art Education Association) members. The artwork will be generously framed by the MEA and will hang at the MEA Headquarters in Augusta. Many legislators, MEA employees, and other visitors who go to the headquarters really enjoy viewing the student artwork. Families enjoy the art opening reception and appreciate the beautifully framed artwork that is returned to them after the show (the following November).

RECEPTION DETAILS: A reception will be held during Portland’s First Friday Art Walk on Friday, March 7th from 5–7pm. We hope you will be able to join us! You are also welcome to visit the exhibition any other weekday between 9am and 5pm.
AWARD CEREMONY DETAILS: All Honorable Mention, Silver, and Gold Key winners are invited to attend the 2025 Maine Region Scholastics Art Award ceremony and reception on Saturday, March 8th from 10:30am–1pm. The ceremony will take place at Portland High School at 284 Cumberland Ave in Portland, followed by a reception at the Maine College of Art & Design at 522 Congress Street to celebrate these students’ tremendous work!
