Things to know:
Graduation fees must have been paid in order to attend senior events, and receive a cap, gown, and diploma.
Fees may be paid by logging into your MySchoolBucks account and then going to My School Store. When you are logged into the app/website go to the School Store icon (on most devices the icon looks like a small store with an awning - see details below). When you click on this icon you should see your Graduation fees of $50 listed to pay. Families unable to access MySchoolBucks may pay by money order or check (payable to Thornton Academy). In this case, payment should be given to the attention of Mrs. Estabrook in the Headmaster’s Office.
Families for whom fees present a financial hardship are urged to contact their student’s school counselor.
For questions about graduation fees, contact lisa.estabrook@thorntonacademy.org
For assistance navigating the Store in MySchoolBucks, contact Accounts Payable at ap@thorntonacademy.org.
Deadline for graduation fees: Friday, February 14, 2025
Choose the awning icon at the bottom of the app (3rd image):
Once you're in the store (see image), select the "Thornton Academy High School" icon that is in the middle of the screen.
The next screen provides an area to select the student. (in case you have more than one senior) and pay the fees.
You also have the ability to pay less than $50.00 if you would like to break it up into payments.
These screenshots are of the app. The website is a bit different, however, you should be able to get to the same place using the store icon.
Things to know:
Cap and gown orders are collected through your completion of the Josten’s online form, emailed in November and due Wednesday, 10/23/2024.
If you expect to graduate, your first step is to provide some key information so that we can order your appropriately sized cap & gown.
The Josten's form will ask you for:
- your name
- your estimated height, in feet and inches
- an estimated weight range, in pounds
- your email
- a parent/guardian email
Caps and gowns will be distributed to students during senior week at marching practice to wear at senior assembly, baccalaureate, and graduation.
The cost of the maroon cap and gown are included in the graduation fees.
Caps are not to be altered or decorated.
Only school-issued pins, cords, or medals may be worn with the gown.
Altering the cap or gown will result in the student being unable to participate in senior end-of-year activities for which they are required.
Gowns must be fully zipped throughout the entire program.
Diploma
Things to know:
Diplomas are issued using each student's legal name as listed in PowerSchool. Please check that your child's name appears correctly. If there is a need for correction (for example, a misspelling), please notify graduation@thorntonacademy.org by the end of the day on Friday, December 13, 2024. Diplomas will be ordered in early January.
The cost of the diploma and its cover are included in the graduation fees.
All items must be returned/paid before you can get your diploma.
If you have outstanding equipment or a lunch account balance in June, you will be allowed to graduate and march, but your diploma will be withheld until these matters are resolved.
More information about collection and balances owed will be shared prior to graduation.
