Annually, for almost three decades, Thornton Academy has served as the hosting site for the Maine Cancer Foundation’s Mary’s Walk. Mary Kerry Libby was a TA alumnus, as were many members of her family, including her 4 children. Mary’s Walk is special to Saco, as it represents the power of community, serving to change the lives of those affected by cancer.
All monies raised by this event stay in Maine to serve the mission of the Maine Cancer Foundation to reduce cancer incidence and mortality rates in Maine through statewide granting programs.
In order to make this a successful event, we need volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering on Sunday, March 29th, please email Mrs. Taranko at carol.taranko@thorntonacademy.org or stop by her office in the Main Building.
