Place a flower in a jar glass jar -> take pictures of it for 15 days -> Show the process of it wilting/dying over time.
This assignment is called Time. The assignment for this project was to either create a series of 15 photos that showed the passage of time either changing or lacking change or create a single Photoshop image that contains 15 images. I chose to create a series of 15 photos that showed the passage of time in terms of a flower wilting. Over the span of 15 days, I took a photo of a flower in a glass jar every day for 15 days. My goal for this assignment was to show the process and time it took in 15 days for a flower to die or just how much change happened in the span of 15 days for this flower. I actually started my assignment with a different flower but that flower died in 3 days so I didn't have enough photos for the assignment so I started over with a different kind of flower. I didn't put any water in the jar so it would cause the flower to die a little bit faster so that there was a more substantial change for me to photograph, which I think helped with the aspect of the project overall because you could tell more change had happened then if I had put water in the plant and the flower lived longer. I really enjoyed this project personally because I didn't just take 15 photos total I took probably around 80 photos in the span of the 15 days and I chose the best 15 photos to put on my Google sites page for this project. I used an actual camera as well not just my phone camera and I think it made the quality of the photos a lot better and captured the specific details in the photo a lot better because it was better quality. I edited these photos very slightly but not very much because I thought that the lighting in them was cool because I tried to take the photos at the same time each day so the lighting looked similar and I didn't want to ruin that by editing them a bunch of different ways making them look different from each other, I like the way that the photos look cohesive and like they're meant to go together. Overall I would call this project a success and I'm proud of the images and compositions I created, though if I were to do something differently if I were to do this project again I would definitely do something more alive like a kitten growing up or a growing a plant maybe instead of watching One wilt just because I think that it would be more lively.
