For the drawing called “Shaded Spheres,” I used four different materials to experiment with making four different shaded spheres, and for the last sphere, I blended two different materials.

The drawing titled “Candy still” is a copy I drew of a photo I took of three different pieces of candy. I chose a starburst, a dots box, and a tootsie pop lollipop. I chose the starburst because it has lots of different densities, shadows, and highlights I chose the dots box because it looked simple but also an opportunity to practice shading solid colors. And the tootsie pop just looked like it would be fun to draw!

For the four shaded spheres, I used colored pencils colored markers and watercolor paints on watercolor paper. Then for the fourth one, I blended watercolored paints and colored pencils together. I also used a ball gar as a circle stencil for all four circles. For the candy still life, I started by sketching out the outlines of my candy and faint marks of the details and letters and then used MANY different colored pencils on bristol board paper. I blended browns with purples and blues to create shadows and blending greens with yellows and gold to create different shadows as well.

I actually didn't do much experimenting with the four shaded spheres I just dived right in by blending with colored pencils, markers, and watercolor paints. Before concluding how I wanted my candy to be configured for the photo I tried opening the dots box and having some of the dots laid out. I experimented with the lollipop facing different directions and the starbursts facing different directions as well. Before blending two different colors together on my drawing I practiced on a different sheet of paper to make sure that the two colors made the color I desired and if they didn't I would try blending different colors tell I got the color I wanted. I really tried to pay attention to the detail of my candy and where there are the highlights we and I feel I did a really good job with these drawings because I spent a very large abundance of time on them especially candy still life.
