Photo Edits

Angle Down/ High Angle/ Bird’s Eye View

I chose this original photo because the bird's eye view adds to the perspective of the photo enhances the photo and makes it more visually interesting. It offers a unique and less common perspective than the typical eye-level view and allows viewers to see the subject (me) from a higher angle which draws the viewer into the photo and makes it more engaging.

Leading Lines

I chose this photo because the railings and roof lines are good leading lines that draw the viewer's attention further into the photo and add depth.

Framing

I chose this framing photo because The subject (my shoes) is “framed” (by the orange traffic cone) which draws the extension of the viewer to what is within the frame and makes that pop! By shooting through the traffic cone I added something special/different to the photo.

For this assignment, we first learned about photo composition and all the different types of photos photographers use to elevate the level and quality of their photos. After making a slide show and finding many examples of different kinds of photography and angles etc... we went outside during class to take some pictures around the school of things that illustrated the photocomposition techniques.

I chose my three favorite photos and edited each one of them in three different ways. I chose Angle Down/ High Angle/ Bird’s Eye View, Leading Lines, and framing. I wanted my approach to be to make each edit of each photo very different from the other, I wanted to make drastic changes/differences and not just slight ones.

My favorite edit was #edit 1 of my first photo with the technique of Angle Down/ High Angle/ Bird’s Eye View because it just stands out from the rest. I like how the saturation is in the negative and the brightness is down in the way that it adds definition and like higher quality to the photo in a way, and even though the color is like taken from it it still looks eye-catching and kind of aluminum colored-ish.
