Me

For this assignment, we were instructed to create a series of images that emphasize hands. What I did was think about how I could show what people like to do or show what hands can do within an image. Unplanned a bunch of my friends came to the art room and they were working on their Ceramics so I decided to catch them in a moment of action. I took photos of my friend's hands while they were working on their ceramics and then added the images. Mostly I told them to just act natural and ignore what I was doing ( taking photos of their hands). I made sure to take a long series of photos of each person. For instance, when I was taking pictures of Jaaidyn and Rihanna  I made sure to take a series of several several photos of both of their hands and then decide which ones I liked the best. I also attempted a lot of different angles and showed the angles that I liked the best for this assignment. I edited all of the images of Rihanna's hands, the images of Jaidny’s hands, and the photo of my own hands. For the images of Rihanna's hands, I adited them by turning the Brilliance up, and the highlights down as well as the contrast up, the black points up, and the saturation up just a little bit. For Jaidyn’s hands, I personally love how my edits made the image completely different than how it originally looked. I turned the brilliance up, the exposure down, the highlights up, the brightness up, the black points up, the exposure down, and the cast up A LOT. I think that the series of photos that are my favorite out of the ones I took for this assignment are the photos of Jaidyn’s hands because I love the way turning up the cast gave it like a warm look but the other edits that I made cause there to be a lot of detail in the photo, meaning that you can see the detail in her hands. For the image of myself, the edits I made were; turning up the Brilliance a lot, turning the highlights down a lot, turning the brightness down a lot, turning the black point down, turning saturation down, and cast down. I think that my edits made the photo of my hands better because it gave it like a cool grayish tone which was what I was going for and I think made the image a lot better than the original one.
