Fantastic and Strange

For this assignment, we were instructed to create one image with the idea of ‘Fantastic and Strange.’ we were also instructed/required to use Photoshop to create this work of art. My approach to this assignment was to use a photo of my own hands, a photo of the sky that I took while I was in Cape Cod, and a photo of myself looking out at the sky while I was at a concert for The Backseat Lovers. I then used Photoshop to create one image out of these three images. I created a black background behind the hands.  And made the hands transparent but still visible so it wasn’t a complete cut-out image but you can still see the texture in the hands because I think that that makes the hands still look like hands and look a lot better than if I had just taken their outline. I used the image of the sunset to be the background within the hands and then I used the photo of me looking off into the sky and cut my subject out and placed it in the corner ish of the hands so it looks like I am looking to the sky that is within the hands. I also edited the coloring of the hands (turned them black and white), as well as the coloring of the sky background, and the subject. Overall I really like the product of my image! I like how I made the hands show texture, and how the subject of myself looks like it is staring off into the clouds, and the fact that it is my hands and me as the subject that shows me like and my personality so they like connect.
