Leading Lines

For this project, we were instructed to go outside and take pictures of things outside and our friends, but intended to have the guideline of having leading Lines within the pictures that we took.  leading lines are Lines within an image that are natural things within the image. After going outside and taking money pictures of leading lines that I saw I developed my film and chose four of my favorite photos that I took to make separate prints of apart from the contact sheet of all of the photos that I took.

The first photo that I decided to make a large print of is one of my friends Maddie Porter. I instructed her to lean up against the building so that the lines in between the bricks would create leading lines toward her. I think that the leading lines in this photo are super cool and really draw me to Maddie's face and her stare. The second photo that I decided to make a large print of is of The parking lot, ( the teacher's lot)  at school. Deleting lines in this image are the crosswalk lines that lead towards the tree which I thought was really pretty and cool. One thing I like about this image is that it has the effect of part of the image being In focus and part of it being out of focus which gives it a kind of dreamy look to it I think.

The third photo that I decided to make a large print of is a little baby pumpkin on the railing on the porch outside Mr Anderson's room.  I thought that this pumpkin was really cute and someone had even drawn a little smiley face on it. In this photo, the railing is the leading line towards the pumpkin. If I were to retake this image I think that I would have lined the camera up straighter with the railing because it's kind of on a tilt but I still think that the image is really cool. The fourth and final photo that I decided to make a large print of is of again Maddie but this time of her feet/shoes. The leading lines in this photo is the space in the crosswalk. I think that this image is really cool because I used a filter on it when I exposed it so there's a big contrast between black and white which just makes the photo a lot better I think. If I were to make this print better I would have cropped out the top of the image so that it would only be her shoes and less of the background behind her feet. Overall I'm very proud of all of the prints that I made in this leading lines assignment and I would have to say that my favorite print overall is the one of Maddie against the brick wall because the leading lines go right to her and she looks very nice.
