Presentation Of A Baby Pumpkin!

9" x 12"

Black sharpies, black ballpoint pens, and colored markers

The main idea that guided my artwork was to create a composition that includes at least two hands. The hands I drew are done on zentangles. I had my friend Lila take a picture of me holding an adorable baby pumpkin. I feel that my art piece is kind of telling a story in the way that I love punkin in it is kind of a presentation of the baby pumpkin, which is why I gave it the title “Presentation Of A Baby Pumpkin!”

My work was made by tracing the basic shapes of my original image onto a white piece of paper and then adding more detail to my traced art piece. Then I created the zentangle designs on the hands and up the arms. I used marker on the rest of the art piece to add the color of the pants the shirt, the shoes, and the pumpkin itself. After I finished the design I cut out the whole thing and glued it onto an orange piece of paper because I felt that the white background it had before was too blank and too plain and that the orange created a more interesting effect and added more color.

Before what became of my finished art piece I only had the idea that I wanted my hands to be holding something but I didn't know what at the beginning. Originally I was thinking maybe, flowers, dripping water, or maybe some candy but then I saw the little pumpkin in the room and I was like thats it. So my friend took a picture of me holding the pumpkin and that is the image I created my art piece off of.
