Semester Reflection

I think throughout this semester I have learned a lot of useful photography skills to produce better photos which has overall enhanced my photo-taking capability and my self as a photographer. I learned how to tough up the overall color pallet of an image to look more pleasing, I learned how to change/even horizon lines in  order to make an image more to scale and look better, I learned how to photograph at night time and how to get a camera to focus on the things you want it to and the things you want to just be in the background, I played around a lot with photographing sports and learned how camera’s work differentially to do that, I did a whole project and motionless and using long exposure on cameras to have multiple of the same subject in an image that is kind of transparent and I would say that that is one of my favorite things I learned how to do and I am going to keep playing around with that. 

I believe that my skills have hugely improved overall as a photographer, I know now how to use a digital camera specifically a Canon EOS Rebel T3 Camera much better than I knew how to use it before, I now know how the different features on it work and how to adjust those features in order to get the type of image I want. I also have explored editing and making my images look better that way as well I have been using the regular photo app to edit images but also Photoshop and how the features there can edit an image to make it better as well. I think that I have gained lots of skills and I am excited to keep trying and keep experimenting and gaining even more skills. 

I do plan on doing my independent study in Photography next semester, and I am excited to keep learning and pushing myself more than I did this semester perhaps to do even more projects and be proud of what I produce! I want to continue to work on film because I was only able to do one project this semester with a film camera and I want to do a project with film maybe where you don’t just develop the prints but use developer to make a design or something. I also would like to keep expanding my digital Camera knowledge so it can just come more usually to me and become something of second nature. I want to continue learning the features of Photoshop and I also want to start to use Light Room and see if I like that any better or if it has any different features than Photoshop does.
