My hand holding a rubber band was really difficult to draw because I wanted to draw every little line crease and imperfection but obviously, I couldn't draw everyone one because there are so many so I had to choose which ones were most important and draw those. The main idea that guided me to draw my Nike blazer is that Nike blazers have lots of detailed stitching on them and designs that I could add to my drawing, which would make it more interesting and fun, so I added that detail into my drawing. When I was drawing my Birkenstock I really wanted to try and make the buckles on them look real and good and I think I did ok… My frontal view of my mom's slipper was kind of frustrating to draw, even though it was easy it was too simple, and because it is pure contour I couldn't make the fuzz look like it was fuzzy so the drawing doesn't really look all that much like a slipper but I tried to make it resemble one the best I could and keep it within the pure contour rules of no harry lines.

For all three art pieces, I drew on drawing paper I used a 2H graphite pencil to sketch the outlines and a 4B graphite pencil to darken the lines I was not going to erase. I used up a significant amount of erasers throughout all four drawings, but the drawing I had to erase the most amount of was my pure contour profile view of my high-top Nike blazer which was also the shoe that took me the longest to complete, and that I put the most amount of detail into.

When I was choosing what position to hold my hand in while it was holding the rubber band, I went through many different configurations before landing on the position I chose. I wrapped the rubber band in many different ways to see which one I liked the best and felt I would be capable of copying. I decided on wrapping the rubber band between each of my four fingers, and my thumb pointed out to the side and the sleeve of my sweatshirt slightly covering the bottom part of my palm. Before choosing to draw My Nike blazer for the pure contour profile view, I almost chose my white high-top chuck Taylor converse but realized that those are much too simple and don't have much design whereas my Nike blazers have much more detail I could incorporate into my drawing. For my aerial view of a shoe I was going to draw my light blue, white, and black Vans but then decided on my Birkenstock because It would be a little bit easier to draw, only because I wouldn’t have to draw each lace like I had to for my blazers. And my frontal view of my mom's slipper was a pretty easy drawing and I knew that was the shoe I was going to draw originally because they were the ones I had been wearing around my house that day.
