Donate Life

For this assignment, I had to develop an art piece with a positive message about organ and tissue donation. The goal is to help encourage people to become organ donors. The positive message I used and came up with that is on my art piece is “Be the blossom to someone’s bud, consider organ and tissue donation.” 

To make my Donate Life Design I used canvas and acrylic paints to paint my art piece. I blended several primary colors of paint to build and created different colors that I didn't have. For the text, I hand printed/wrote it but copied a font style I liked to make sure that each individual letter matched and looked neat. 

Before I decided on the phrase/positive message that I did, and to draw vases with flowers, I actually thought about using a different phrase with a different art piece. The phrase o was considering before the one I eventually chose to do was “Lend a hand, through organ and tissue donation” and it was going to be on an art piece of hands reaching for each other. In the end, I decided to do what I did with the flowers and some of my friends helped me come to my decision, and I also thought that the idea with the hands is kind of something that has already been done before but the idea I decided to do I think eas a little more original.
