For this project, I wanted to experiment with different methods of developing prints. My focus was more on how I developed my prints than on making "good prints." I had a ton of fun doing this project, and I thought of some pretty cool techniques. My goal for this project was to come up with some new ways to develop that I like that I can hopefully use in the future. The first method I tried was painting with a paintbrush and then waiting tell I saw some developing results, and then painting with a paintbrush again in order to get gradients of development. I also used different-sized paint brushes and emphasized the paint brush lines, or I tried to make it pretty seamless so you couldn't see the lines. Another method I tried was also using a paint brush, but vertically, so the developer was able to drip on parts of the image I hadn't already developed and make some pretty cool drip marks. Another method I tried was a spray bottle with developer in it and spraying the print, which made a kind of splattered look that I really liked the look of. Another method I tried was aiming to develop certain parts of the print, such as the eyes. This was super super hard to do because I had to guess where the part of the print I wanted to develop was, so I was completely guessing without really knowing, so that was pretty tricky, but the result turned out super well. I also used multiple of these methods in the same print, which I feel took my prints a step further and created some really interesting developing. Overall, I am happy with this assignment, and although some parts were tricky, I felt super creative and came up with some super cool developing methods.
