The main idea that guided my artwork was to create 4 linoleum block prints, one with a solid color, one with multiple colors, one on a non-traditional surface which I chose a sweatshirt, and one that was extended in some way which I chose to splatter paint on the print. I chose to do a free-handed sketch of a heart-shaped record with old-fashioned headphones on music notes around it. My favorite is the one where I splattered paint on it or the one I printed on my sweatshirt.

I free-handed a cute design then I went over it in a B graphite pencil and pressed it down on my slab of linoleum. I then carved out the parts I didn't want to print out in black. To create each print I rolled ink over my linoleum design and centered a piece of paper on it and pressed dawn, I did this with black and colored inks. To create the print on my sweatshirt I rolled a kind of ink that won't wash out of clothing over my linoleum design and printed it in the center of my sweatshirt.

I went through a couple of ideas for designs before the design I decided on. At first, I thought I was going to do some hearts like radiating out bigger and bigger each. I looked on Pinterest to get some inspiration and I saw a world with old-fashioned headphones and I thought of what I love, which is records and listening to music so I did a heart-shaped record with old-fashioned headphones on and then the space around it seem to empty so I added some fun music notes.
