Acrylic paint On Canvas

My main idea that guided this art piece was to match my painting to my college the best I could and I think I did a pretty good job of this. I also wanted to create lots of different shades of colors within the painting which I also think I did pretty and accomplished. I wanted to create lots of different shades of colors because I thought it would be fun trying to match each color. Which it was but also took a lot of time.

To create the collage piece of this art project, I used mostly pictures and pieces of paper cut from magazines (specifically New Yorker magazines) and also cut pieces of colored construction paper. For the Copy/Surrealist painting piece of the project, I used a tracing iPad to trace my collage onto canvas and then used acrylic paints to paint on the canvas.

At first, I started making a different collage that consisted of just different colored skies and clouds but when I was like halfway through making that collage I decided to start over. I start a new collage (the one I ended up using)  that I felt was more complex and had more pieces, and colors, and would push me more out of my comfort zone to try something that would take more time, detail, and challenge me a bit. It certainly did end up taking me a while to complete but I am proud of the final result of my entire project and my painting!
