Foundations of Art

This year has been so enjoyable. I have improved so much. From the beginning of the year where we drew a self portrait, to a sculpture of a lobster. I have enjoyed my time in Foundations of art, and am hoping to do another art class next year.

The project I enjoyed doing the most was our mixed media project. I did a charcoal drawing of my dog Finn, and was really proud of my work. I thought I had a lot of details throughout the piece and I really liked drawing with charcoal. It was easy for me to blend pieces together, and create this piece to look realistic. I had a very fun time working on this piece.

The processes that challenged me the most was the blind contour drawing. I did not really understand what to do at first, and then I just drew random things with my eyes closed. We were supposed to create something out of the piece, but I ended up making something that did not make sense.

Art relates to my life because art is one of my favorite things to do. Weather it is the preforming arts, or creating artwork, it is my favorite thing to do. I have enjoyed my first year in a high school art class, because I felt challenged. I created pieces that used materials that I have never used before and was nervous about using, but I created some of my favorite pieces ever. I enjoyed every second of art class, and I can't wait to participate in another art class in the future.
